KellieKel was born as Kellie Yancy on June 29, 1988. Raised by her grandmother and always in church, Kellie gained a passion for music at a very young age. She began writing her own poetry and songs at the age of 8 years old. Kellie would compete with poets of all ages all over the country for prizes and would usually win the competition. All the while, she was calling record labels such as Interscope and BadBoys Ent., singing to the secretary or representative that would take the call. That passion for writing and love for music later transformed itsself with a bit of a hip hop rhythm. At age 17 KellieKel moved to Missouri to continue education and attend Barbizon School of Modeling. After graduating highschool, Kellie's uncle, who is a DJ, introduced Kellie to rap! Being the only girl amongst all the guys she hung around due to her tomboyish mentality, rapping was bound to be the next step. Kellie recorded her first song at the age of 17 titled "40 Cal." Her savage lyrics, pretty face and undeniable talent drew the attention of some go the hottest of music moguls in the industry.
~The Setback~
In 2007 Kellie experienced the loss of someone very close to her. Being the person who expresses their feelings thru writing, Kellie sat the music on the shelf and engulfed herself in her poetry. Years went by without a single lyric written (for herself, that is). Through-out it all, she wrote for multiple different artists. In 2008 Kellie moved to Atlanta, Georgia to pursue her modeling career. In the beginning of 2009 Kellie gave birth to boy/girl twins. She was in full fledge mommy-mode for the first 5 years of her children's life. When the twins became of age to attend school, Kellie decided to pick back up what she once sat down...her love for music.
~The Comeback~
In 2013 KellieKel started revitalizing herself and making preparations for the launch of her music career. By the end of 2014 Kellie had booked herself a tour to promote her new single "On Fleek." Kellie toured the entire 2015 with "On Fleek" being in rotation in 14 states and the United Kingdom. With help from her DJ Bioncman (who later passed), Kellie's single transcended world-wide. Crossing over into different genres of music, KellieKel introduced the world to her rendition of EDM/Techno. In 2016 KellieKel collaborated with a few of Detroit's artist including Felix the Don and Brielle Lesley. She also worked alongside Ypsilanti native Neisha Neshae to enhance one of Kellie's prior songs titled "I Got It." The same year KellieKel turned down a deal with Music World. Realizing that no one saw her vision in the way she did, Kellie decided to work on her project solo despite of the rumors of how hard it could be. Being known from her public dispute with recording artist Dej Loaf, and live videos racking up millions of views, Kellie decided to take a different approach with her music. Instead of being able to be confined to a certain genre or "box," Kellie decided to make the kind of music her heart felt aside of what the average hit song may sound like in today's society. KellieKel is a story-teller. She truly believes that "she does not make music for those that does not want to hear it." She also believes that it is always best to be true to herself and if indeed the art was placed in her heart as a genuine talent, no one will be verbalize her thoughts for her. This is why she writes her own music and lives out the true definition of being an ARTIST and lyrical mogul.
December 2017 was the release of her album Psychotic Therapy. Her first single from the album titled "Who Am I" is the groundbreaking host of answers to the question everyone wants to know which is, who is KellieKel? In October 2019, Kellie released her second album Emancipated. The album tells a vivid story about the challenges that helped build strength within herself. Some of Kellie's favorite artist includes Mya (of course), J.Cole, Wayne, Tupac Shakur, & Lexii Alijai. She also writes and produces all genres of music. This lyrical genius is unstoppable and following her own vision.
In 2023, KellieKel wrote and published 4 books on relationships, in addition to gaining over a half million followers in 6 months due to her motivational videos and uplifting content. Kellie felt it was necessary to educate herself on the information that she was giving so the same year she earned 2 business degrees. She also earned her life and relationship coaching certifications as well. Kellie is well versed and very thorough in her work. Her talent stems beyond what the mind can imagine.

From The Mind Of KellieKel
"~Be The Person You Wanna Be~"
Never feel guilty for being yourself. Every person on this earth has an opinion! Now ask yourself, say "Self, does their opinion matter?" and watch yourself say "Nope!"
"~Write your own music, dream your own dream~"
No one can bring your vision to life better than yourself. Quit hiring someone to create one for you. Are you really being yourself if you're living thru the work and art of someone else?
"~What Box???~"
Never allow anyone to place you, your talents, or your purpose for your life inside a box. Learn to bloom where you are planted and create your own box. Don't be afraid to travel a different route simply because no one has made it successfully. YOU ARE THAT ONE!
"~Do It Your Way~"
No one has to live your life except for you. If you do things your way, you will have no one to blame and no one in your lane. Losing won't be an option because you'll be your own competition.
"~I Am My Biggest Competitor~"
Be in competition with yourself and STAY in competition with yourself. The only way to become better is to strive to become better. You must learn how to outwork, overpower and go a lil' bit further than the you, you were yesterday!
"~A Failed Mission Always Begin With Comfortability and Contentment~"
The moment you feel comfortable or content, you begin your downward spiral. You'll know you're progressing when you defeat one uncomfortable challenge and is faced with a bigger one. Never become comfortable where you are. You could ALWAYS be some place better.
